Geoff Cook at 2010 London Funds Conference - AIFM Debate

The draft EU AIFM Directive is without doubt one of the most talked about proposals ever to emerge from the EU Commission, provoking intense debate and generating a huge range of views and opinions.

The proposed legislation is likely to have an enormous impact on hedge funds, private equity funds, property funds and investment trusts as the European Union aims to create a comprehensive supervisory and regulatory framework for alternative investment funds within the EU.

Here Geoff Cook opens the event with his thoughts ahead of the topical and lively debate.
